Feeding Families and Strengthening Communities with Foodstuffs North Island

At the Kindness Collective, we’re proud to partner with Foodstuffs North Island, a 100% Kiwi-owned co-operative that’s been part of New Zealand communities for over 100 years. Together, we’re working to build a future where every family has access to the food and essentials they need to thrive.

Foodstuffs contributes to the Everyday Essentials and Manaaki Ora programmes, delivering vital support to thousands of families across Aotearoa. Their support helps provide 48,000 meals to 4,000 whānau every year - bringing not just food, but dignity, hope, and meaningful support into homes and communities.

At Christmas, Foodstuffs helps create something truly special through their support of the Food Market at the Christmas Joy Store. Thanks to their generosity, whānau facing hardship can celebrate the festive season with kai on the table, presents under the tree, spending meaningful time together, just like everyone else.

As a co-operative built for and by Kiwis, Foodstuffs North Island shares our commitment to strengthening communities, supporting wellbeing, and ensuring all families have access to fresh, nutritious food. We’re honoured to work alongside them to spread kindness and help build a stronger Aotearoa.

“We’re both excited and deeply grateful to be working with Foodstuffs North Island. This partnership means we can reach more whānau with the essentials they need. Our partnership is about more than food on the table; it’s about dignity, connection, and community. Together, we’re wrapping kindness around those who need it most, and showing families that in tough times, their community has their back. Ngā mihi nui to everyone at Foodstuffs North Island for the support".

“Everyone should be able to feed their whānau with dignity. As grocers, we can help supply the food but it’s organisations like the Kindness Collective who know how to get it to the people who need it the most. With family-owned stores in communities across the North Island, this partnership is about helping the families in every community we’re a part of.”
