Feed a Family

Donating food is a simple way to make a big difference.

Everyday we're feeding families who are finding it tough to put food on the table.

With the cost-of-living crisis affecting many, we now have one in eight children living in poverty, and 22% of Kiwi households unable to make ends meet. This number is only expected to climb.

We receive referrals for food boxes every day from the New Zealand Police, community nurses, doctors, social workers, refuge leaders, principals and teachers and we need your help to keep up with demand.

Here's how you can help:

Donating food is a simple way to make a big difference, so share what you can spare and collect cans and other non-perishable food items at your workplace, school or club.

You collect the food and we'll get it to families in the community who need it most. Collections are a great way to engage your team, students and friends, knowing that a little for you, is a lot for someone else.

“Thank you for the massive koha you gifted us. Your kai donation has fed hundreds of our tangata and their visitors here at TeMātāwai, giving them the nutrients and energy they have needed to start their day right.  We have had meaningful kōrero in Breakfast Club and have been able to establish rapport with a lot of our tangata through the manaakitanga of kai which you have kindly provided for us. Many thanks to you and the rest of the kaimahi at Kindness Collective for your love and support not only for Te Mātāwai, but also for the wider community you serve”.

“Kia ora, our families in the greatest need today received the most amazing food parcels. They have had the worst week, month, year but your kindness put smiles on their faces”.
